The objective of this Master's degree programme is to offer high-quality training in professional research and to provide analytical and quantitative tools to address today's economic challenges. The programme rigorously integrates theoretical knowledge and its application to real economic problems.

This one year Master taught completely in English offers fields of specialization in entrepreneurship studies and applied economics:

a) Entrepreneurship and management of small and medium enterprises, with particular emphasis on business creation and management.
b) Applied economics, focused on the relationship between market performance and public intervention.
This is an Official Master of 60 ECTS awarded by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

Structure
All students start with a high level module in Quantitative Research Methods, containing mathematics, applied statistics and econometrics followed by another one in Applied Economics and Business (covering applied microeconomics, finance and entrepreneurship, productive efficiency and innovation and geographical economics). Students then take a specialized module with advanced topics in either Entrepreneurship and SME management or in Applied Economics. The fourth module of the programme consists of an individual master's thesis where each student will develop an original piece of research.

Campus location
The master programme is located at the campus of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in Bellaterra (Barcelona). This is an integrated campus where all UAB facilities are close to each other, providing a pleasant research and teaching environment. The campus is well connected to Barcelona city centre by a regular train service and the motorway network. Students at UAB can easily benefit from access to other research centres in the Barcelona area.
