The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy is a research institute of the Max Planck Society for the
Advancement of Science. The Munich Center for the Economics of Aging (MEA) studies, evaluates, anticipates and
accompanies the micro- and macroeconomic aspects of demographic change. For our research unit “Health and Life”,
we are looking for an

Economist (or related field)
as a (post-) doctoral researcher

with good knowledge of health economics and/or microeconometrics.

Your Duties
You will design and conduct empirical examinations related to health economics. Possible topics are health and socioeconomic status over the lifecycle, labor supply and health, competition in the markets for health, and similar issues.

Your Profile
• Diplom, Master or Ph.D. in economics or a related field,
• profound knowledge in microeconometrics.

What we offer
We are an open-minded, motivated team of young researchers. We offer a stimulating research environment with
excellent contacts in our international research networks. Further studies towards a Ph.D. or postdoctoral qualifi cation
(“Habilitation”) are welcome and explicitly supported. The regulations of the collective labor agreement for public employees
(E13, TVöD-Bund) apply. The place of employment is Munich. The initial employment contract will be for two
years. An extension by additional four years is intended.

The Max Planck Society wants to increase its proportion of female staff in those areas where women are underrepresented.
Women are therefore explicitly encouraged to apply. The Max Planck Society strives to employ more disabled
persons. Applications of disabled persons are therefore especially welcome.
