The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) Mannheim, Germany, is a non-profit economic research institute and works in the field of applied empirical economic research. The institute pursues a microeconomic and microeconometric course of research and is integrated into a dense national and international network of universities and research institutes. Its Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy research department is recruiting two

Economists (Postgraduate and Postdoc)

The focus of these positions will be independent scientific research and economic policy advising, particularly in the fields of on microeconometric evaluation, empirical education research, or personnel economics.

The successful applicants will have a sound knowledge of labour market economics and of applied econometrics. We are looking for resilient and flexible candidates with the ability to work independently within a team, good organisational and excellent oral and written expression skills. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German would be appreciated.

We are offering the opportunity to undertake challenging work in an exciting research environment. Extensive contacts within our national and international research network as well as international co-operations offer attractive future career prospects for the successful candidate. Remuneration is based on the TV-L statutory salary scale and its associated public sector benefits. Continuing qualification in the context of postgraduate doctorates or postdoctoral studies is explicitly supported, e.g. by granting periods of paid release from normal project work and by facilitating research stays at renowned research institutions abroad.
