Several PhD student positions are available in Operations, Economics and Strategy (OES) http://oes.epfl.ch/ at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) headed by Prof. Thomas A. Weber, director of the Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship Institute (MTEI) http://mtei.epfl.ch/ in the College of Management of Technology. The mission of OES within the MTEI is to conduct world-class research and teaching at the intersection of operations, economics and strategy, as it relates to organizations and their interactions.

Successful applicants will be highly motivated, excellent students with a background in engineering, applied mathematics, or economics. They should be familiar with optimization and analysis of mathematical models. Information about the type of research pursued is available on the OES website. Proficiency in English is required and applicants must have obtained the equivalent of at least one master's degree at a first-rate institution. Additional work experience in industry is a plus. Information about the doctoral program (EDMT) at the EPFL College of Management of Technology, which includes a generous compensation package, is available at http://phd.epfl.ch/edmt .
