The Collegio Carlo Alberto is a foundation established in 2004 as a joint initiative of the Compagnia di San Paolo and the University of Torino. Its mission is to foster research and teaching in economics, finance, and political science. The Collegio shares the values and best practices of the international academic community. Nearly 400 people including students, researchers, fellows, junior faculty hired on the international academic job market and visiting scholars create a dynamic and cosmopolitan research and teaching environment. The Master in Economics continues the pioneering tradition of the Master in Economics created 20 years ago by the consortium Coripe Piemonte. That program, the first of its kind in Italy, prepared many bright Italian and foreign students, who now hold prominent academic or professional jobs in Italy or abroad. The new Master program in Economics builds on the strengths of the previous program and, at the same time, has been reshaped in order to compete with similar successful Master programs in Europe. The Master in Economics endows its graduates with an excellent working knowledge of the analytic tools and advanced methodologies required for the study of current issues in Economics. The courses are taught in English by the faculty of the Collegio recruited from the best schools on the international academic job market. In addition to their coursework, master students interact with the faculty, fellows, visiting fellows and researchers of the Collegio. They have access to the Collegio’s facilities and scientific activities, such as seminars, lectures, and doctoral courses.
